Benin, Edo – Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has assured voters and other residents of Edo State a free, fair, and credible governorship election this Saturday.
The Defence Chief made the pledge when he paid a visit to Governor Godwin Obaseki in Benin City, on his way to other official engagements in the state.
Governor Obaseki commended the efforts of security agencies in Edo state which he said has contributed to the creation of an enabling environment for socioeconomic activities to thrive.
On Saturday’s governorship election, General Musa expressed surprise over the level of tension ahead of a process where the people are supposed to come out and vote for the candidates of their choice.
He pledged the neutrality of the Armed Forces who will only be on ground to monitor the exercise and ensure that it is peaceful.
