Delta set aside N1.3bn for erosion control in Okpanam

Asaba, Delta – The Delta State government has earmarked N1.3 billion as counterpart funding for erosion control in Okpanam community in Oshimili North Local Government Area.
This was disclosed by the member representing Oshimili North State Constituency, Frank Esenwa.
The villages where the gully erosion had caused damages are Amachai, Ogbeozoma, Ogbe Ojie and Vanguard area.
Esenwa made the disclosure in Okpanam during the maiden edition of Okpanam Heritage Day.
He noted that Okpanam is a cosmopolitan society and that strangers help in the overall development of any town.
He also explained that he had brought 400 street lights which would soon be deployed to the community.
