UGHELLI, Delta – In his usual way of uplifting the less privileged, Chief Wilson Brume Ejeben, CEO of the Wilson Ejeben Foundation, brightened the festive season for elderly women, men, and the less privileged yesterday Saturday, December 21, 2024.
The philanthropist distributed rice, wrappers, and cash to residents of Aladja Community, Ogbe-Udu, and Oginibo in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The gesture brought immense joy and gratitude to the beneficiaries, who described it as a remarkable act of love and kindness.
Speaking to newsmen, Chief Ejeben, who was recently honored with the prestigious Chieftaincy title of "Obarisi of Ughievwen Kingdom" by His Royal Majesty Dr. Matthew Ediri-Owini Egbi JP (FOD), the Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, reflected on the inspiration behind his philanthropy. He shared how he once had nothing as a young man, but the kindness and investments of others helped him succeed. “Many of those who invested in me are people I can no longer repay directly. Giving back to society is my way of saying thank you to them,” he said.
Chief Ejeben also emphasized the importance of community support, urging wealthy individuals not to be discouraged by negativity or side talks. “There are many people in our communities willing to give back but are held back by discouragement. I urge them to step forward and spread the love, just as Jesus Christ preached and the Bible encourages us to do,” he said.
The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude, praying for God's blessings on the philanthropist for making them experience the joy of Christmas. They called on others to emulate his generosity.
Additionally, Chief Ejeben’s family at Oginibo lauded his efforts in providing solar-powered streetlights, which have significantly improved the community's infrastructure.
Accompanying him on this outreach were members of the Wilson Ejeben Foundation, including Chief Dr. Freeborn Ayoma (JP), Mr. Happy Negheneghen, Chairman of the Udu Local Government Taskforce, Mr. John Dolor, Mr. Charles Aggreh, and others.
Chief Ejeben’s continuous efforts to uplift the lives of the less privileged and his impactful community projects underscore his commitment to spreading love, joy, and hope, especially during the festive season.
