Benin, Edo – Christmas, no doubt, is a time of celebration; particularly to christians and non christians alike.

However, this year’s celebration wouldn’t be such for the family of a middle aged man, simply called Ototo, for Killing one of his child; a baby in the afternoon of Tuesday, 24th December, 2024.

The unfortunate incident happened in Ogbeson Quarters of Agbor Park in Ikpoba Hill area of Benin City, Edo State.

The man reportedly killed his baby by hitting him on the wall.

The man was said to have taken marijuana(Igbo/ India Hemp) before committing the act.

Immediately after Killing his son he realized what he has done and bursted into cry uncontrollably.

According to Ototo, he thought he was carrying a Dom baby, not knowing he was carrying his baby.

Unfortunately, the baby died in the process as a result of heavy lost of blood and injuries.

The incident drew the attention of members of the community to the scene of the incident.

While some of them blemed the man for his use of drug, which they believed made him to commit the act, others expressed the believe that the man killed his baby under the influence of spell.

Meanwhile, as at the time of filling this report, the incident is yet to be reported to police.
