PHOTO Inside Edo Okpebholo sends six commissioner-nominees to Edo Assembly, defends LG chairmen suspension

Benin, Edo – The Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has submitted six names to the State House of Assembly for confirmation as commissioners.

This was disclosed in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, and addressed to the Assembly.

The nominees are Olabisi Idaomi, Paddy Iyamu, Paul Ohonbamu, Washington Osifo, Lucky Eseigbe, and Andrew Ijegbai.

Titled ‘Request for the Confirmation of Commissioners’, the letter stated: “I write at the instance of the Governor of Edo, Senator Monday Okpebholo, to forward for the consideration and confirmation of the Assembly the underlisted names as commissioner designates: Hon. Paul Ohonbamu, Washington Osifo, Dr. Paddy Iyamu, Sir Lucky Eseigbe, Andrew Ijegbai, and Barr. Marie Olabisi Idaomi.

“While looking forward to the expeditious confirmation of the names, please accept the assurances of the warm regards of Mr. Governor.”

Meanwhile, governor Okpebholo has disclosed that the suspended council chairmen allegedly remitted about N12 billion to leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) within 15 months, which the PDP denied.
