Edo council appoints new secretary to local government

Owan, Edo – Following the impeachment of Hon. Aminu Okodo Kadiri, former Chairman of Owan East Local Government Area of Edo state on Monday 30th Dec. 2024 by the legislative arm of the council, Hon. Aruna Mohammed was subsequently sworn into office as the new chairman of the council.
While giving his acceptance speech on the occasion, the council boss announced the dissolution of the executive arm of the council hence the appointment of a new Secretary to the local government (SLG) Mr Mustapha Nurudeen.
In his pre administering the relevant oaths of office to the new SLG, Hon. Aruna Mohammed reiterated his administration's commitment to delivery the dividends of democracy to the people of the local government in the areas of improved infrastructure, health care, education advancement and sustainable development.
The council boss also promised that his administration will involve collaboration, innovation and a profound sense of responsibility.
Earlier, some of the leaders who spoke at the event include; Hon. Eric Okaka, the minority leader of Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA) and comrade Tony Ishanv bode APC leader ward 05 express their confidence in the ability of the chairman Hon. Aruna Mohammed and promised the support of the leadership of the party.
In his acceptance speech, the new Secretary to the local government (SLG) Mr Mustapha Nurudeen thanked the leadership of the party for giving him the opportunity to serve and promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him by the people.
