Suspected Cholera outbreak claims lives in Delta

WARRI, Delta – A suspected outbreak of Cholera has reportedly claimed a septuagenarian, identified as Mr. John Okusanren, and one other at Bobi Community in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was gathered that Mr. Okusanren passed on Friday, January 17, after a few hours of sudden vomiting and stooling, while details of the second victim haven’t been disclosed.
A Warri-based online media, FreshAngle International, disclosed that the first casualty of the suspected Cholera, happened last week Wednesday in Bobi community.
Other persons said to be victims of the suspected disease were reportedly ferried to health centres in Warri, Warri South Local Government Area for medical attention.
There are also growing fears that the suspected Cholera outbreak might extend to other riverine areas like Burutu, in Burutu Local Government Area of the state unless it’s swiftly contained.
