64 Delta schools to participate in maiden Ogiame Atuwatse III Inter-collegiate quiz, debate competition

WARRI, Delta – Sixty-Four schools in Delta State, are billed to participate in the maiden edition of Ogiame Atuwatse III Inter- Collegiate Quiz and Debate Competitions.
Our Senior Roving Correspondent, reports that Sole Representative of The Olu of Warri/Liaison Officer to NNPCL and its JV Partners, Prince Collins Oritsetimeyin Edema, made the disclosure Friday January 24, during a press briefing held at Nana Model College Warri.
He noted that students, would be drawn from both private and public schools, across the three Warri local government areas and environs.
He added that the students would be tested in Mathematics, Physics, English, Chemistry and current affairs, in a series of competitions that would commence in January and culminate in June 2025.
Edema, said the winner would take home a star prize of 10 million Naira, in addition to other prizes for participating schools.
The coordinator of the programme, Mrs. Rejoice Demekeme, in her remarks, said: “The vision of the Ogiame Atuwatse III Inter- Collegiate Quiz and Debate Competition, is rooted in the legacy of His Majesty, who is deeply committed to fostering education and critical leadership among the youths.
“It aims to nurture future leaders and young minds to think critically, especially in Delta State.”
The team lead of the competition, Mr. Coker Tuoyo, said the criteria for the competition, is based on the schools that participated in the “Future of the Warri Child” seminar held October 2024 and other schools selected by the competition committee.
