Edo uni signs MoU with a Chinese varsity

BENIN, Edo - As a measure to enhance academic and research capabilities as well as pave the way for technology transfer, exchange programs for the students, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma has signed a Memorandum of Understanding ( MOU) with a Chinese University
The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Comrade Otumba Mike Aladenika made this known in an interface with journalists recently in Benin City
He pointed out that Acting Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma , Professor Sunday Olowo Samuel has brought in measures which has significantly improved on the past challenges and making the university to get back to its lost glory of which the MOU is one of them
Com Aladenika subsequently said the University is currently enjoying relative peace, with no further protest or gate closure , the stability which he said is attributed to divine providence and the effective leadership of the Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Sunday Olowo Samuel, the support of the state governor, Monday Okpebholo’s administration, cooperation and understanding from staff , unions and students
“However, with the leadership of Acting Vice-Chancellor, the college of Medicine has made remarkable progress, the University has successfully graduated medical students in batches, inducted over 800 nursing graduates, nearly resolved MLS issues, most importantly, relevant regulatory bodies have given consent to admit students in all programs in the college , this marks a new era of growth and opportunity for the university” he pointed out
The university public relations officer also informed that the Law faculty at AAU has made a remarkable comeback after facing the threat of de-accreditation , the faculty has regained its former glory, this he attributed to the diligent management, support of the governing council and also the backing of the present administration
He noted that the reforms aims to abolish the era where qualified students face delays due to multiple batch systems, ensure students graduate within the stipulated timeframe, except in cases of individual fault.
He added that beyond the faculties and departments sourcing alternative power supplies, the state government has announced plans to provide a 1.5 megawatt alternative power supply to support all sectors of the main campus, additionally, the Tertiary Education Trust Funds will be installing a solar plant, a testament to the university’s prominence in the South – South region pointing out that Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma is the sole beneficiary of this initiative in the region
