Benin, Edo – A livestock farmer and member of Commercial Dairy Ranchers Association of Nigeria, Charles Ehioghae, has advocated for collaboration with relevant authorities to sustain livestock production to create youths empowerment and also boost revenue base of governments at all level.

He gave his advocacy while fielding questions from Journalists in Benin City, Edo State capital weekend, saying the cultivation of juncao grass will not only boost meat and dairy consumption but will promote socio-economic well being of the people and create employment.

Ehioghae, while giving significance of the juncao grass noted that it contains 7% sugar and 18% crude protein needed to feed about 20 to 30 cattles and other livestocks yearly.

He further said that juncao grass, produces mushroom which is rich in 25 to 55% protein, Vitamins D and E of about 10.5g to 100g, Sugar of over 30% and its nutritional values which are more higher than meat and milk good for human consumption as well as fish and poultry feeds.

The Australia based livestocks farmer argued that juncao broucher grass played a very critical role in reducing rearing cost of cattles and other livestocks, maintaining it promotes double income if well cultivated.

He insisted that he had about 80 acres of land which he is presently cultivating juncao broucher grass in Edo State, just as he had sought collaboration with the Edo State government, individuals and corporate organisations to boost production of the juncao grass to achieve the desired results in terms of livestock farming especially when it has become imperative to now establish ranches as being propelled by this present administration of President Tinubu led government in the country.

Ehioghae reiterated his resolves to establish the juncao broucher grass farming across the country to reduce cost of livestock rearing and promote health status of the people.
