PHOTO Education Oborevwori approves electrification, 30-seater bus for Federal varsity in Delta

Asaba, Delta – Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has approved immediate electrification of the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale, and the provision of a 30-seater bus to enhance student mobility, marking a significant step in supporting the institution’s growth.

The announcement was made in Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the university’s Governing Council, led by Pro-Chancellor Dr. Salisu Banye, at Government House, Asaba.

Dr. Banye commended the state’s contributions to the university’s establishment, including the provision of land, a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), and infrastructure at the Technical College, Kwale, currently serving as the temporary campus.

He highlighted critical needs for the permanent site, such as roads, hostels, fencing, logistics, and utilities, while seeking ongoing state support.

Governor Oborevwori’s approval of electrification aims to address the university’s immediate infrastructure needs, ensuring a conducive learning environment.

The 30-seater bus will facilitate student transportation, easing mobility challenges.

Describing the university as a cornerstone of his administration’s MORE Agenda, the Governor reaffirmed Delta State’s commitment to advancing education and healthcare through sustained partnership with the institution.

The Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale, is set to play a vital role in training medical professionals and improving healthcare delivery in the region.

Governor Oborevwori’s swift action underscores Delta State’s dedication to fostering academic excellence and infrastructure development.
