Edo assembly clears commissioner-nominee, announces names of Co-opted members principal officers

Benin, Edo – The Edo State House of Assembly has announced the names of Co-opted members of the Principal Officers Council of the House.
The Speaker, Rt Hon Chief Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku made this announcement during plenary on Tuesday.
They include the Member Representing Oredo West, Hon Efosa Osaro, as Deputy Chief Whip, while Hon Sunday Aghedo, Hon Sunny Ojezele, and Hon Waziri Oshioma are Co-opted members.
Also at plenary, the Speaker appealed to members to complete all Committee assignments for presentation to the House.
The House also at Plenary cleared the remaining Commissioner Nominee Prof Roland Otaru (SAN).
During the Consideration of the Report from the House Committee on Rules and Business, members eulogized the Commissioner Nominee, Prof Roland Otaru, describing him as an erudite scholar with great accomplishments and achievements in the Legal Profession.
The lawmakers commended the Governor Distinguished Senator, Monday Okpebholo, for choosing Prof Roland Otaru.
Members who spoke include Hons Adeh Isibor, Charity Aiguobarueghian, Osawonyi Atu, Sunny Ojezele, Sunday Aghedo, Maria Edeko, Donald Ok ogbe, and Kingsley Ugabi.
The House thereafter adjourned sitting to Monday, 15th September 2025, after an adjournment motion moved by Hon Natasha Osawaru and seconded by Hon Bright Iyamu.
