The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced that 1,622 candidates with disabilities participated in the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal, underscoring its commitment to inclusive education.

The candidates with disabilities included 586 males and 355 females with hearing impairments, as well as 111 males and 80 females with visual impairments.
Professor Wushishi emphasized that the participation of these candidates reflects NECO’s dedication to ensuring equal opportunities in education for all Nigerians, regardless of physical challenges.
“The inclusion of persons with disabilities in the SSCE is a testament to NECO’s resolve to create an enabling environment where every candidate has the opportunity to excel,” Wushishi stated.
He further noted that the Council implemented special arrangements, such as accessible examination formats and support systems, to accommodate the needs of these candidates.
