Benin, Edo – A woman, Omosefe Bridget is scared of her safety and that of her son, Ajai Ernest who is allegedly hunted by members of the Ogboni Fraternity.
In a report lodged with the police in Benin City on July 5, 2025, Omosefe alleged that their ordeal began in 2014 after the demise of Ernest's father. She said there were attempts to forcibly initiate her son , Ajai Ernest into the conclave against his consent.
She said her son went into hiding following persistent threats from the leadership of the cult group.
She also alleged that she had received calls from unknown persons, demanding that Ajai Ernest must join the group or face the consequences of his refusal.
"My home was attacked at about 8 pm on the night of 4th July 2025. The attackers were armed with dangerous weapons. They came looking for my son Ajai Ernest and when they could not find, they left a warning that they will kill me when next they come looking for him", the agonising mother told the police.
