Uffa, Anambra – A N25 million project to construct a solar-powered borehole with an overhead tank in Uffa Village, Aguluzigbo, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, remains unfinished, according to a recent report by Tracka, a citizen-led monitoring organization.

The project, sponsored by Senator Dr. Victor Umeh and overseen by the Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu, has sparked concerns over delays and lack of accountability.

The initiative, managed by contractor Doson New Tech Nigeria Limited, has seen the installation of a borehole and an overhead water tank, as documented in images shared by Tracka on X.

However, the critical solar power component, essential for the borehole’s operation, remains uninstalled. The last reported activity by the contractor was in November 2024, leaving the project stalled for nearly a year.

Despite the allocation of funds, the absence of the solar installation has rendered the facility non-functional, depriving the local community of a vital water supply.

Tracka has called on the implementing agency, identified as @FIshiagu, to provide detailed updates on the project’s status and to urge Doson New Tech Nigeria Limited to return to the site and complete the work.

The organization’s findings highlight ongoing challenges in the timely execution of public infrastructure projects in Nigeria.

No official response has been received from the Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu, or the contractor.
