FG converts university of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital to Federal University Teaching Hospital, Akure

Akure, Ondo – In a significant boost to Nigeria's healthcare infrastructure, the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH) in Ondo State has been officially converted into the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Akure.
The transformation was marked by a ceremonial unveiling, handover, and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) earlier on Friday, witnessed by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, who represented President Bola Tinubu.
This milestone underscores the Federal Government's ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery and expand tertiary health services across the nation. The new Federal University Teaching Hospital, Akure, is set to become a cornerstone for medical education, research, and specialized care, aligning with the government's vision to elevate healthcare standards nationwide.
