Prof. Ize-Iyamu, the first female CMD in UBTH's history, made these remarks during a courtesy visit to the management of Yongxing Steel Company Limited in Benin City on January 6, 2026.

The visit aimed to foster deeper corporate collaboration to bolster healthcare infrastructure in Nigeria.

She highlighted the hospital's recent acquisitions of state-of-the-art equipment and enhancements in corporate services, emphasizing UBTH's renewed commitment to excellence in patient treatment outcomes across Edo State and the South-South region.

"The hospital is now better positioned to deliver quality healthcare," Prof. Ize-Iyamu stated

In response, the Managing Director of Yongxing Steel Company, Mr. Zhang Xianghai, described the visit as "historic" and expressed gratitude to the UBTH team.

He praised the hospital's role in delivering quality healthcare in the region and assured continued support, noting the long-standing relationship between the two organizations.
