Orhionmwon, Edo – A youth leader in Orhionmwon local government area of Edo State, Moses Igharo on Sunday announced his return to the All Progressive Congress (APC), from the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
Igharo, who defected to PDP from the APC in 2023, made this known in a message to BENDEL Mirror on Sunday evening.
Igharo apologized to the APC for his earlier defection from the party.
According to him, he is back to contribute his quota towards the party's success especially in the forthcoming September 21 governorship election in the state.
"Yesterday, June 16th, 2024, I, Moses Igharo, and my supporters officially joined the APC at the Ward Level. I want to express my gratitude to all who accompanied me from Benin to Evbokabua.
"My decision to join the APC is driven by the overall interest and development of Evbo'Ivbiohon and Egbokor Communities, as well as Iyoba Ward, Orhionmwon Local Government, Edo State.
"In the last election, I worked tirelessly for the PDP, but unfortunately, the party's internal conflicts and takeover by external forces led to our defeat, with only 17 votes recorded. This resulted in our community losing opportunities for councillorship, appointments, and other benefits.", Igharo said in the message
He continued, "Despite my efforts, the party's unresolved issues and the governor's refusal to genuinely reconcile have led me to rejoin the APC, where I originally belonged since 2009 (AC, ACN, APC). I apologize for my brief departure in 2023 but am now fully back to support the party's success.
"I believe that if Egbokor and Evbo'Ivbiohon Communities want to achieve political representation and development, we must support the APC, as PDP is likely to suffer another defeat in the upcoming election."
