Delta Senator to immortalise late Ewherido

THE Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Ede Dafinone has disclosed plans to immortalize late Senator Pius Akpor Ewherido.
Late Ewherido, who once represented Delta central senatorial district in the Red Chambers died in 2013.
According to Senator Dafinone in a facebook post, the Urhobo Language Competition for students of Delta Central origin in post primary and tertiary institutions across the country will be put together in recognition of his effort in the promotion of Urhobo cultural heritage during his lifetime.
"Prizes to be won by participants are as follows: 1st (N500,000), 2nd (N300,000), 3rd (N200,000) and N100,000 each for the 3rd to 9th runners up (4th-10th position) as consolation.
"The first stage of the competition will be taking place on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at three centres, namely, Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU); Government College, Ughelli and Urhobo College, Effurun by 10:00 a.m while the second stage will hold on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at DELSU, Abraka.
"Grand finale takes place on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Urhobo Progress Union Cultural Centre, Uvwiamuge-Agbarho.", Dafinone posted
