PTI wins 4th NSChE Edo/Delta quiz competition

THE Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, NSChE, Delta/Edo States chapter, has organised a quiz competition for Chemical Engineering students of tertiary institutions in the Chapter with Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun emerging as winners for the first time.
The maiden edition was held in 2021.
The quiz competition was held virtually and had five out of the seven institutions in the Chapter as participants.
Schools that participated were the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Effurun; University of Benin, (UNIBEN), Benin City; Edo State University (EDSU), Uzairue, Petroleum Training Institute, (PTI) Effurun and Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi.
The subjects that were covered in the quiz Competition were Separation Processes, Process Dynamics and Control, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Mathematics, and Current Affairs as subjects covered during the competition.
PTI scored 115 points to emerge winners while UNIBEN and Edo State University with 110 and 95 points came second and third, respectively.
The Chairman of the chapter, Engr. O. J Ememerurai in a statement, said plaques would be sent to the first, second and third position schools in addition to the prize money of N50,000, N30,000 and N20,000, respectively.
The Chairman also commended the lecturers of all the schools, for the training of the next generation of chemical engineers.
The statement disclosed that three students represented each Student Chapter, explaining that the Student Chapters were asked to include at least one female in the team that would represent them.
The statement noted that the quiz was designed, compiled and moderated by the Quiz Master, Engr. Dr. Chinedu Anyalewechi, MNSChE.
