Benin, Edo – The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Edo State, Dr. Isaiah Osifo, has insisted that he is the most qualified candidate that deserves to win the September 21, 2024 election on the basis of his pedigree as a loving family man, social activism, grassroots community engagements and background as a person of virtuous christian character.

He stated this during an interactive family summit in Benin City, the capital of Edo State organised by the Catholic Men's Organization (CMO).

In the beginning of his talk, he emphasized that he is a stickler for the Godly national, community and humane values that promote good governance.

According to him, these values therefore are what he embodies to the exclusion of other candidates in the race to Osadebay Avenue.

"Every christian should have these values", he stated

So, he urged his listeners to respect and fear elders; hate lies and always follow the teachings of Christ.

He went on: "Husbands love your wives. Have discussions with them. Respect their needs. Wives also love your husbands and be patient with them.

"When there is love in a family, children in the family will imitate their parents and they will show love too..Is that not so?"

He explained that if he is elected be will be the best governor Edo State will ever have because while in office he will show love, compassion and empathy to Edo people.

He points out that his unique upbringing while growing up and his adopted lifestyle as a love ambassador put him far ahead of other candidates.

He states: "I come from a backgound where there is love. I love my wife. I love my children.

"Love and truth are the only things that will save our society. So, love and love. Love your wives and love your children. Love Edo State,. Love mankind.

"All over Nigeria, there are lies, lies and lies out there.. No love. If we don't stop these lies, we will end up leaving a bad society for our children. May God never allow us to leave such a society of lies, no truth and no love for our chilfren. So, let us appreciate love and truth always:"

For Dr. Isaiah Osifo no other candidate has more love for Edo State than himself. No one can give what he or she does not have.

At this juncture, Dr. Isaiah Osifo recalled with mixed feelings that as a two-time local government chairman of Uhunmwonde Council Area, he built quarters for his staff 27 years ago. But today they have been abandoned by politicians.

In a bid to clarify his message to his agitated audience over his statement, he posited that it is a misnomer to call him a politician.

He announced that he is not a politician but a social activist of the first order in the garb of a veteran statesman.

According to him, Edo State needs a social activist like him that can deliver the dividend of democracy to the suffering people of Edo State.

He recounted that as a social activist, he was able to restore safety and security to Uhunmwonde Axis of Edo State Plagued by kidnappers, armed robbers and other daredevils.

His story: "About 5 years ago, my brothers and sisters outside the country called me requesting I help them to fight the insecurity from Egba town down to Ehor and other areas in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area.

"I told them that I was no more in government. Rather, I am now a teacher, a farmer and a common citizen. Later on, the social activist in me told me to accept the assignment.

"I, therefore, informed my people abroad that I have accepted their request to serve my community. But I told them I won't work with politicians because of their troubles.

"It was at this stage I met with the catholic Archbishop Dr. Augustine Akubueze I briefed him about what was going on and I pleaded with him to nominate a catholic priest that will work with the security committee I had set up to clear Uhunmwonde area of miscreants. He did. That is how we solved the insecurity problem in my Uhunmwonde community.

"In conclusion, therefore, I urge Edo people to vote for a candidate like me with a pedigree of accomplishments in and out of government. Don't look at party or the face of the candidate. Look at a candidate's past record and antecedents.

"Governorship is not for people who want to learn on the job. Choose a candidate with character. A person with a rich background. A man with a christian love and mind."
