A Bill for the Creation of Edo State and Akoko Edo State, and the Establishment of New Local Government Councils in Edo State
Preamble
We, the people of Edo State, seeking to promote economic development, improve governance, and enhance the quality of life for our citizens, do hereby propose the creation of two new states: Edo State and Akoko Edo State, and the establishment of new local government councils in Edo State.
Article 1: Creation of Edo State
1. Edo State shall be a new state carved out of the current Edo South and part of Edo Central Senatorial Districts.
2. Edo State shall comprise the following local government areas:
* Edo South: Egor, Ovia North-East, Ovia South-West, Oredo, Ikpoba-Okha, and Uhunmwonde.
* Part of Edo Central: Esan West, Esan Central, and Igueben.
Article 2: Creation of Akoko Edo State
1. Akoko Edo State shall be a new state carved out of the current Edo North and part of Edo Central Senatorial Districts.
2. Akoko Edo State shall comprise the following local government areas:
* Edo North: Akoko-Edo, Etsako West, Etsako East, Etsako Central, and Owan East.
* Part of Edo Central: Esan North-East and Ugboha.
Article 3: Establishment of New Local Government Councils
1. The following new local government councils shall be established in Edo State:
* Edo South: Egor, Ovia, Oredo, Ikpoba-Okha, and Uhunmwonde.
* Edo Central: Esan West, Esan Central, Igueben, Esan North-East, and Ugboha.
* Edo North: Akoko-Edo, Etsako West, Etsako East, Etsako Central, and Owan East.
Article 4: Urgent Need and Importance
1. The creation of Edo State and Akoko Edo State, and the establishment of new local government councils, is urgent and necessary to:
* Promote economic development and reduce poverty.
* Improve governance and enhance accountability.
* Enhance the quality of life for citizens.
* Preserve cultural heritage and promote tourism.
* Strengthen political participation and citizen engagement.
Article 5: Effective Date
This Bill shall come into effect on the date of its passage by the National Assembly and assent by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Article 6: Short Title
This Bill may be cited as the Edo State and Akoko Edo State Creation and Local Government Council Establishment Bill, 2024.

If Esan west, North and Igueben become parts of akoko edo stat according to your proposal, then ubiaja Ewohimi and other communities will fall under where?

If a new state must be created, it should be Esan state. Or better still, the three senatorial district go separately as individual states.
