Warri, Delta – Some youths  in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, have called on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to drop the nomination of former member of Delta Assembly, Hon Uviejitobor Peter Okagbare as Commissioner-nominee from Udu Local Government.

The youths, who are  members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Udu, said Governor Oborevwori  should reward party members who worked in the last elections.

They alleged Okagbare did not work for PDP and Governor Oborevwori in the last election in Udu Local Government, warning that making Uviejitobor a Commissioner will be detrimental to PDP in Udu local government

According to them, because Uviejitobor could not get the PDP House of Assembly ticket for Udu Constituency, he allegedly supported the opposition party.

Mr. Rurhe Smart Edesiri, who spoke on behalf of the aggrieved youths, appealed to Oborevwori not to reward perceived betrayals in the last elections as doing so will discourage and demoralise committed members who sincerely worked and mobilized for him ( Governor) and PDP in the last Governorship election.

The youths further alleged that before the last Governorship elections, three aides of Uviejitobor left PDP to APC and only returned when Governor Oborevwori had won the elections.

They said the Governor should rather pick or nominate a Commissioner from among party faithful who are more qualified, dedicated, and capable to work cordially  with leaders and stakeholders in Udu for the best interest of the party.

“Udu Local Government Area is already in opposition, and the incumbent member representing Udu Constituency, a member of opposition party is from Orhuworhun town, where Uviejitobor also comes from as well. We sincerely beg our amiable Governor Oborevwori to drop the nomination of Hon Uviejitobor Peter Okagbare,” they said in a letter.
