PHOTO Inside Delta Delta community inaugurates new executive

Warri, Delta – Ifiekporo Community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, today, Thursday July 25, inaugurated a new executive council to manage its affairs for the next four years.

Following the elections, Dr. Monday Agbeyi was elected Chairman of the community, taking over the helm from Mr. Peter Ede.

The new executive council consisting of the Youth executive and Trust Council pledged to uphold and serve in the interest of Ifiekporo community.

In his remarks during the inauguration, the chairman, Dr. Agbeyi said his administration will focus its energies on peace building and reconciliation saying “without peace, development would elude us”. 

He assured the people of Ofiekporo Community that his administration shall handover a better Ifiekporo Community by the end of the tenure in terms of peace building, Infrastructure development and human capital development. 

He recalled that the period between 2008 and 2012 was a dark one for the community's political history, as both the legitimate Youth and Trust Executives were usurped. 

“The ill wind of these actions are still blowing in our community till date, he said. 

The Chairman, promised that they would never cause division among themselves, but would instead share genuine love, similar to the people who are together in God's family.

He commended Chief Emmanuel Oritsejomi Uduaghan for collaborating with Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to provide solar street lights in Ifiekporo. 

He expressed optimism that their land across the SPDC Carnal shall be connected to the community again. 

The Member representing Warri South Constituency 1 in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Augustine Uroye, praised the Executive for the successful leadership transition. 

He assured the people of Ofiekporo that there will be infrastructure development in the community this year.

He encouraged them to always call on him whenever the need arises.

The guest lecturer Prof. Lucky Akaruese gave a lecture on the topic: “The Importance of Population Increase to Ethnic Minorities Survival” urging the Itsekiri nation to increase its population. 

Those sworn into the new Executive are, Monday Agbeyi as Chairman, Mr Jolomi Enonuya as Vice Chairman, Augustine Tete as Secretary, Frank Meyiwa as Public Relations Officer.

Our Senior Roving Correspondent, reports that others are, Roli Menekpo as Treasurer, Jackson Oritsemeyiwa as Financy secretary, Madam Oritsegbemi as Women Leader and Tuoyo Ebigbeyi as Assistant Secretary General. 

The new youth Leadership has Mr Bright Omolutieyin as President, Ambassador Etan Omiretsili as Vice and Etsebanro Diden as Secretary among others 

The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III represented by Chief Wilson Olley, Hon. Augustine Uroye, Mr. Collins Edema, Prof. Lucky Ataruese were among dignitaries who attended the ceremony.

High point of the event was the presentation of Population Incentive Award, a cash prize of Five Hundred Thousand Naira to Members of the community who have the most children.

Mr. Victor Edon won the first prize with fifteen children, Mr. Felix Bemigho won second place with thirteen children, and Mr. Joseph Nami won ten children.
