Delta LG fixes 'Compulsory Environmental Sanitation' for Thursdays

Agbor, Delta – Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State has announced Thursday every week from the hours of 7.am to 10.am as compulsory environmental sanitation day.
According to a statement signed by the executive Chairman of the local government, Hon Jerry Ehiwarior, the essence of the weekly sanitation exercise is in line with the commitment of his administration to ensure a cleaner and safer environment for all.
"I wish to refer to the above subject and notify all Landlords/Landladies as well as residents of Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State, that henceforth, a compulsory environmental sanitation will be carried out every Thursday of the week within the hours of 7.00.am to 10.00am.
"This is inline with the executive Chairman's commitment to ensuring a cleaner and safer environment for all.
"All Landlords/Landladies, business and shop owners, including residents are to ensure that drains in front of their shops and buildings are opened up to enable free flow of rain flood.", the statement copied security agencies read
The statement titled, 'Compulsory Environmental Sanitation' further reads, "All traders and business owners along Odozi, Baleke, Iregwa and other streets in Agbor are from henceforth, advised to stop shading goods on top of drain slabs in front of their shops and buildings.
"This is an executive order from the executive Chairman, Ika South Local Government Area and defaulters will be penalized.
