Udu, Delta – The Ukpiovwin Community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State has inaugurated its new executive committee to steer the affairs of the community for the next three years. The swearing-in ceremony saw Mr. Blessing Akpoyibo take the oath of office as the new President. Chief Jefia Godwin Notoma admitted oath on the new Executive members.

In his inaugural address, President Akpoyibo expressed gratitude to the community for their trust and pledged to collaborate with leaders, elders, stakeholders, and law enforcement agencies to combat crime and foster peace, unity, and development in Ukpiovwin.

The outgoing President, Chief Oghenero Ogbefererere, highlighted his administration's achievements, which include:

- Construction of a block of six classrooms for Ukpiovwin Secondary School.
- Facilitating government approval and takeover of Ukpiovwin School.
- Construction of an additional block of six classrooms for Ukpiovwin Secondary School.
- Renovation of four classrooms in Ukpiovwin Primary School.
- Extension of electricity to Ukpiovwin new layout.
- Grading of Ukpiovwin Secondary School Road.
- Construction of Ehweya Hall to lintel level.
- Renovation of the failed portion of Ubogo Junction-Ukpiovwin Main Road.
- Initiation of monthly stipends for the eldest male of each quarter.

The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode JP FCIA, was represented by his Vice, Hon. Mrs. Omovie-Oputu Najite Omojewve. She congratulated the new executive members and urged the president to work synergistically with his team, prioritizing security in the community. Accompanying her were the Leader of Udu Legislative Arm, Hon. Henry Apunu, Deputy Leader Hon. Victor Sele, Majority Leader Hon. Joseph Okoro, and Hon. Henry Eterhi, among others.

The newly sworn-in executive members are as follows:

5. Mr. Anthony Potokri - Spokesman

7. Mr. Joseph Moha - Financial Secretary
8. Mr. Godspower Marierian - Assistant PRO
9. Mr. Benjamin Ulo - PRO
10. Mr. Alex Miakovo - Youth Leader
11. Mr. John Sagba - Middle Age Chairman

The community looks forward to a period of sustained growth and development under the new leadership.
